L&M Fly-In Outposts

Greetings to all,

We hope everyone is enjoying the winter activities that each winter brings us. January has been overall a cold month in the Canada North. Lots of cold weather and snow early in the year and lately started to "warm up" to where its not so bitter cold. We'll see what February will bring. We still have lots of winter before spring is here.

If anyone is looking for a fly in fishing trip for 2008, we still have dates to pick from at our various locations scattered through out the season. Keep L & M Fly In in mind if your wanting to do a trip in 2008. We also have had a couple of cancellation trips that popped up lately for this spring, if anyone is looking for a special offering, please contact us for further details on these selected trips if your able to take the exact dates of these trip. If anyone is unduring cabin fever this winter, a great way to think about spring is to think about fishing during the spring.

We have a change to pass onto everyone. We finally got pulled out of the old world and was graced by being able to get high speed Internet in our area now. So we will be updating our Internet provider soon which we will be using a new email address. Please update any file you may have on us, new address is as follows: LM@LMflyin.Com

We will still have our "old" address (Lja@nwonet.net) forwarded to our new and current address (LM@LMflyin.com) for awhile but a good idea is to use our new address as we are unsure how long we will forward the old address to our new one. Our web site (www.LMflyin.com) has also been updated with the current email address. LM@LMflyin.Com

Canadian Tax Rate. For any of you who has a trip already booked with L & M this upcoming year with paid deposits, you would have already received your new confirmation early in January showing the change in the taxes. For those not aware or not booked, Canada did lower the tax rate for the 2008 season. As of January 1, 2008, the GST (goods and service tax) was lowered from 6% to 5%. Also this year we can rebate 1/2 of the GST tax to all our clients from the USA. L & M will rebate the GST rebate tax right off your bill to save you money and the time for the government to send back your money. PST (Ontario provincial sales tax) stayed the same for 2008. In our packages, it is figured to be 6.00 a day per person. With this lowered GST tax rate and rebates, the overall cost of the trip dropped a fair bit...which I'm sure all of you will be pleased to hear.

Border News Updated. Passports will be needed to get into the US crossing with your vehicle starting 2009. So you do not need a passport, yet, for 2008 season. However.. Keep reading here. The US border did make a change though, that you all should be aware of as it will effect everyone of you who comes to Canada and wanting to go back home to the USA after your trip has completed in Canada. Starting January 31, 2008, you will be required to show 2 forms of ID to go back home after your trip from Canada. This is NOT a Canadian law and does not effect you coming in to Canada. It is an American law and it does effect you when your trip is over and you are going back home to cross back into America. 1 of the 2 ID's required must show citizenship, which means a birth cirtificate or passport will be needed as they show your citizenship. The 2nd ID must show identity, having a photo ID. So you might as well get your passports if you intend to keep coming to Canada or any other place outside of the US as they will not throw this out. You will need them in 2009, so just do it. Get your passports now. There is also a passport card that can be obtained. Here is a link to check this out and other border crossing information right off the US Department of State web site.

For those who don't have passports. It does make border crossing so simple if you have and use your passport. Crossing the borders, you show the border offical a passport and 99% of the time they give you no hassles or delaying you to cross the border. Just a couple of quick follow up questions and you are on your way. Please bring the required documentation with you and have ready to show the border officials on your trip to avoid any delays at the border.

We hope everyone is doing well and for those who are football fans, what will you do now that the super bowl is over? We all enjoyed a good super bowl game this year, unlike a lot of years having a blow out game.

If anyone has any questions or comments, please feel free to contact us. We will be glad to hear from you and/or answer any questions you may have.

Stay in touch.
