March 2008 Newsletter
|
Hello All,
A month has passed since our last newsletter and yet winter is still here. The days are getting longer and longer which only means spring is coming. A lot of you wonder about how the snow levels during the winter in the area for the upcoming spring. We have had lots of snow this winter. No record breaking amounts, but a good pile of snow and if all goes well should provide a good run-off for decent water levels this spring. “Ice out” is something we can never predict with accuracy. At this point could be early, it could be late, or it could be normal. That all depends on what happens down the road. The temps overall have been a very cold winter with many stretches never getting above zero for highs, although the end of February did bring some warmer temps above zero and nearing the 32 F degree mark a few days.
Interested in a FREE trip??? Read on.... L & M is testing out a new promotional idea to expand our networking family. A few years ago we acquired Shabumeni lake outpost. The fishing is good at Shabumeni for walleye and northern. We are trying to build up the clientele base on Shabumeni as to what we have for a client base on our other lakes. Our other lakes we have had for a much longer time so our clientele base is more built up at those lakes. We are prepared to give out summer specials for Shabumeni this year to build up clientele on this lake. So if you go during our summer months this goes out to any new guest never been with L & M or old guests of L & M that have never been to Shabumeni. As an incentive, find a group of at least 4 total people, 1 person goes FREE. Doesn't matter to us how you "split" up the savings on the free person with the whole group. Certain restrictions and dates will apply and this is a “limited time” offer. Please inquire if you are interested.
2 trips in 1 year with L & M.....We also want to let all of L & M's guest know that we are going to start offering another special that you all can take advantage of. This is for any of our guests that come to L & M and make a 2nd fishing trip in the same calendar year to L & M. We are prepared to give 10% discount off the regular trip prices on a 2nd trip. You would have to take a 1st trip in order to qualify for the 2nd trip discount. So if you are considering a 2nd fishing trip you could save a few bucks this way as this is just another way we want to reward you for being part of the L & M network. 10% off your 2nd trip and L & M will also include your 2nd trip fishing license FREE that you will need on the 2nd trip.
If you are not on the books for this season and you are thinking about booking a fly in fishing trip with L & M yet this year, we still have openings scattered out from spring through fall at all our various great walleye and northern fishing lakes. Keep L & M in mind if considering a fly in fishing trip this year. If bass is something your looking for at Fishtrap Lake, going for just a few day trip during June or July, only a couple slots left in that time frame. Fishtrap is good family lake vacation as many sand beaches for swimming, good action for bass and northern, and some walleye on the side for eating. Available dates are June 27-30 (3 day trip) and July 6-10 (4 day trip)

Some Big news among the Adams Family. Many of you remember Travis. Travis and his wife Chris are proud parents of a baby girl. Jaycie was born Feb 24 (Due date was Feb 23) in Red Wing, MN at 1:26 am. 8 pounds 11 ounces, 22 inches long. Jaycie is their 1st child. Parenthood is just the beginning to start a new chapter in their lives. Baby Jaycie is healthy and doing well, and so is Mom and Dad, too.
Other family news. We know most of you remember Lucas, too. He is resting up now as he had surgery on Feb. 29 for a Hernia. He is doing fine and taking little time to recoup before the spring rush with his business at Gateway North Outfitters. The doctor said it would be a 6 week rest period, which we are sure he will be antsy before the rest time will be up to get back to work.
For those who know us at L & M, you know that we are into the hunting for ourselves during the fall season. Some think we are "nuts", I think its more like an obsession. Gives us a goal each year to look forward too. Many of our clients have the same problem, just the problem comes in terms of fishing rather than hunting. If any of you are hunters and thinking or wanting to apply for the draws out west to go hunting this year, it is that time of year to be applying for those tags. Some states are even done with applications to draw, others are right around the corner, and others still have plenty of time. Here's some states that we apply in each fall just serving as a reminder to anyone who's thinking about heading west this fall.
