Hello,
In our last newsletter we mentioned the new Ontario Non-Resident Outdoor Card system for 2009. We have a little more information for you about the new Ontario Non-resident fishing licenses to make the process easier.
For those of you who have trips booked with L & M, we have already sent you blank fishing license forms in your confirmation packette to have filled out ahead of time. Those yellow forms are no longer valid with this new system. We have made changes to L & M web site to handle this change by an online form to fill out instead of the yellow forms. Please go to our site to take part on this new feature. We ask you who have booked trips with L & M to fill these forms out at least 30 days prior to your fishing trip to ensure we have time to complete the process. If you wish to fill them out now, feel free to do so, as we will make sure it is filed away with your groups' trip information and ready at the time of your group arrival. Filling these online forms out for your fishing license will benefit all of you as it will help save time the day you check in for your fishing trip... which means, the faster we check you in, the faster we can take off in the plane to your desired lake. Why waste good fishing time filling out paperwork? Simply go to our home page and click on the "Fishing Licence Form" (big red starburst center of the page) and complete the online form. After we receive your online fishing license form, we do drop you a quick personal email back to you verifying we got your online form. If you do not receive an email back from us within 24-48 hours you may have not submitted the form correctly. If anyone has any questions regarding this matter, please drop us an email or call us and we'll explain further.
Please, if you are on the "fence" about coming or not on the group trip, do not fill the form out. You are still able to fill the forms out when you arrive for the trip, it just takes a few minutes to complete the paperwork. Make sure to fill out all of the fields in the form and hit submit otherwise the information will not get to us.
Children under 18 years of age DO NOT need to have their own fishing license as they can fish off a adult and DO NOT need to fill out the form. Certain rules apply towards a kids' fishing off an adult, inquire if you wish to know about these rules. And why spend the extra money for a license you don't need to?
Our weather was really cold most all of the winter and now things have warmed up slightly. Mid Febuary, we had rain some of the days....melting down some of our big piles of snow to just normal sized snow piles. With these warming temps this earily only means 1 thing. We are now getting more snow again. And it has again dropped to minus 20 degrees below zero most nights. We are sure anxious for spring!!!!
For those who have their trips booked in May with L & M, we plan on setting our flight schedule for May fishing trips sometime in March by postal mail. The flight time letter will be sent to the group leader who is in charge of the details of the trip and has paid the deposit for the trip. Please read over all the information as there are some important details listed for your trip. June trip flight time schedules will be set roughly in April and will be sent to you at that time. If you do not get our flight time letter accordingly to those timelines, let us know and we can resend out letters to you as each group needs this information.
Reminders......which for all you repeat guests is just review but make sure to read.
It's getting to be that time of year, many of you whom are booked in this season have deposits paid for the trip for the min. group sizes. If you are certain your group will be larger than the deposit amount paid, please notify L & M of this with deposits on the "additional" people confirming them towards the trip so we know for plane scheduling and you have the correct price per person on your confirmation. This helps L & M to schedule flights most effectively.
Make sure to notify L & M of where you plan to overnight before your flight into the outpost lakes. We like to keep track of where you'll be that night in case we need to reach you with any last minute messages. We seldom need to contact you that night, but it is nice to know where you are staying in case we do. A simple email to us saying where your booked in is plenty good.
Also, make sure to give L & M at least 30 days notice on any pre-orders (beverages, food, or bait). If you know what you want now, feel free to give your lists now and we'll attach your list to your trip file.
Anyone who is not set up on a fishing trip this season and interested in a fly in for 2009, let us know, as we still have various openings throughout the season. Drop us a line and we can go over details or questions you might have.

In respects to our guests who fly in with NorthWest Airlines to International Falls, MN and then using the taxi service to reach our airbase in Dryden. I phoned North Air Taxi recently (same as City Cab), rates for the full sized van will run $210.00 total per trip for the group (times 2 to get you back to International Falls at the end of your trip). Those prices with North Air Taxi are subject to a fuel surcharge if the gas prices go way up again this season. If the price of gas stays within reason, the rate will be as quoted. As much as anyone else, we hope the fuel prices stay within reason this summer for everyones' sake around the neighboring countries. If anyone needs L & M to schuedule any cab arragnements for your trip, let us know, and we'll be happy to make these arragements for you. Just as everything else with information towards your trip, let us know atleast 30 days before your trip and we'll be happy to arrange the cabs for your party.
I would like to pass a link onto everyone who reads our newsletters regarding Passports. For anyone who needs information on passports, check this out as it should answer your questions. Remember.... passports are needed to return back to the USA after your trip starting June 1, 2009. You still have time to get those required passports.

We look forward to seeing many of you real soon.
